Progress in Emerging Contaminants Removal by Adsorption/Membrane Filtration-Based Technologies: A Review
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper discussed the removal and remediation of emerging contaminants (ECs) in water using adsorption membrane filtration as a single hybrid system. The classifications, sources, effects, detection techniques, available technologies for ECs were discussed. Next, an overview both processes terms materials, separation mechanisms, factors affecting their performances, applications removals was provided. It followed by comprehensive review combination with other physical, chemical, or biological treatments. Finally, progress research on system between included pre-treatment, integrated adsorption/membrane system, post-treatment. Generally, systems showed improved performance than Nonetheless, further studies are recommended those wide range scale-up issue.

Metals Removal Technologies for Stormwater: Filtration
This study, sponsored by the Water Environment Research Foundation, focused on innovative methods for the capture of metals from stormwater. The two areas of focus were media filters and swales. This paper will focus on the filter studies. Twelve media were chosen for initial evaluation. Equilibrium and kinetic studies were formed on these media to assess their performance in capturing metals f...
متن کاملSulfate Radical Technologies as Tertiary Treatment for the Removal of Emerging Contaminants from Wastewater
Water scarcity and water pollution is a worldwide problem and has driven research into eco-friendly and low-energy cost efficient remediation. The reuse of wastewater for non-potable purpose after proper treatment is the only sustainable solution to the problem. Advanced oxidation processes (AOP) based on the in-situ generation of hydroxyl radicals have been intensively investigated for this pu...
متن کاملRemoval of contaminants in a paper mill effluent by Azolla caroliniana
This study was focused on removal of various parameters in paper mill effluent using a method called bioremediation by Azolla caroliniana. The experimental investigations have been carried out using Azolla caroliniana for conducting the sorption study with various dilution ratios (2, 4, 6, 8, and 10), pH (3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9) and biomass (200, 400, 600, 800 and 1000 g). Th...
متن کاملRemoval of Metallic and Organic Contaminants from Aqueous Streams by Novel Filtration Methods
Graphite nanofibers, are a novel material that has been developed in our laboratory from the metal catalyzed decomposition of certain hydrocarbons (1). These structures possess a cross-sectional area that varies between 5 to 100 nm and have lengths ranging from 5 to 100 mm (2). High-resolution transmission electron microscopy studies have revealed that the nanofibers consist of extremely well-o...
